Description

Urban and rural seem to mix in fairly equal proportions here with stands of trees interspersed with rows of houses and apartment buildings. Most of the pleasant single family dwellings reflect the city's modern development standards, though older structures built during the 1950s, when to the area's population grew explosively, represent the Spanish Pueblo style. The lone architectural oddity seems to be one larger stucco-walled house, which seems to be aiming for a mixture of Gothic and California Mission styles.

A few blocks north on Louisiana Blvd, the wilderness has started to regain a foothold, as can be seen by the presence of Arroyo del Oso Park. The Park includes a golf course, tennis courts, and soccer complex, as well as other public facilities. The Bear Canyon Arroyo runs through the property and serves as a major drain, integrated with the park's recreational purpose
