Everyone's got secrets. Sometimes those secrets need to be recorded somewhere. Secretly. Sometimes you're the one doing that recording. Sometimes you're the one trying to interpret it. Either way, it's a lot easier with an understanding of Cryptography. You know at least one form of encoding and decoding information (your default method), and you can generally tell when someone's trying to pass encrypted information in front of you. Given enough time and effort, the chances are pretty good that you'll be able to crack whatever code or encryption scheme is in your way.
