House Rules

From Masq

Every Mush has its own set of House Rules

Currently the grid is in permanent Nightzone to allow all players the opportunity to RP in public regardless of the +time. We are experimenting with having Dayzone Locations, for those who want to avoid the Darkness. You can type +dayzones to see a list of locations and how many people are RPing in each.
Vampire
There is no XP cost for Humanity, as this stat is meant to fluctuate as your character struggles to maintain it -- this is a major theme of the Vampire sphere! However, appropriate justification must be given as to why your character's Humanity moves in one way or the other before any modifications to the +sheet are made.

PC Ghouls are allowed, but require the approval from both the Vampire Wiz and the Mortal Wiz.

All Blood Bonds must be noted by Staff or they are considered not to exist.

Vampires can learn non-clan disciplines, but there must be suitable justification. A vampire can learn either through RP with another player or through NPC interaction, but for the latter they must have a relationship with that NPC. And, of course, if vampires are caught teaching restricted disciplines (e.g. a Camarilla Gangrel teaching Protean), there may be consequences!

When using a long-term discipline effect, such as Presence or Dementate, a vampire may affect a player character for no more than 1 IC month, even if more successes are rolled

Shifters
We are allowing peeking from the Realm into the Umbra, but the difficulty of doing so is +3 of the local Gauntlet. For Rite of Talisman Dedication, we are allowing each Gnosis point to cover a dedicated "outfit" rather than single article of clothing.

All shifter sphere players are subject to the standard requirements as described in NEWS IDLE. In addition, there may be certain "IC" requirements for Garou characters such as attendance at Moots and other sphere functions.

All shifter sphere players are encouraged to clear any prolonged absences with staff prior to going on +vacation. In the case of Garou and Garou Kinfolk, players are also strongly encouraged to provide staff with an IC explanation for their absence that can be passed on to the Sept. The Sept is a close-knit community and IC absences are noted by the PCs who remain. If a player needs help coming up with IC reasons for a lengthy absence, staff will be glad to assist. Garou/Kinfolk who fail to provide an IC explanation for their absence and simply "vanish" may be written out of the story at staff's discretion, regardless of +vacation status.

Mortals
Mortal/Mortal+ are able to soak both bashing and lethal damage.

Mortal/Mortal+ characters cannot be bonded without their OOC consent, mortal/+ staff consent, and vampire staff consent. Even once all these consents are gathered, they cannot be bound beyond a level 2 on the blood bond scale.

Please note that this is only in regards to Mortal/Mortal+ characters being bonded only. Once you become a ghoul, you move into the Vampire Sphere, and are subject to the normal rules for ghouls and blood bonds.

Mortal +
For Sorcerers, when you raise a Path you may get an xp free ritual of that same path level. Though there may be IC/storyline costs to go along with it, depending on what the ritual is.
