Status
From Masq
Kindred are accorded Status depending on their office, deeds and actions over a long period of time. This Status determines a Kindred’s station within a group of vampires, with greater respect shown to those of higher station, equal respect to those with equal station, and respect is due from those with lesser station.
Equal status is defined as somebody who is within 10% of you in the status rankings.
Kindred who have greater status are more likely to have their voice heard by the Court, to be able to speak with higher-status kindred, and are due respect from those with lower status. Kindred who frequently ignore or flout status will be punished by the Harpies.
While almost all players in the game are neonates (It is possible to become an ancilla or higher but not easy), the status code is in place to show who is "greater amongst equals".
It should be remembered that even if a character has high status compared to the other neonates, this does not mean that they have higher status than the Court NPCs and does not mean that they will be overlooked if they do anything against the law. The general rule of thumb for Court NPC status is: Higher Than You. For non-Court NPCs, just ask as they crop up.

Status Background
As we only have neonates as starting players in this game, anyone who takes status as a background stat in chargen will get a small amount of starting status depending on their clan and their background. This can be lost if players do not keep it through RP, as usual.
Commands
+vstatus
+vstatus/all
+vstatus/vote <player>/<sect or clan>/<positive or negative>=<reason>
This command allows vampires to keep track of their status and to vote to increase or decrease the status of another vampire.
The first command listed will show you your own status, along with who you've voted for, and how many times. In addition it will also show you what percentage of the total status in each category your status takes up.
The second form will show you all vampires with status, and how much each has in each category (along with the percentage). You can only see the status of other players in your clan.
The third command lets you vote for <player>, who must be a vampire and approved. You must also specify if it's in the Camarilla or Anarch sect, or in a specific clan. Anyone can vote Camarilla status for any vampire: even Anarchs can gain Camarilla status. You can only vote Clan status for members of your clan. Only Anarchs can vote to give Anarch status, and only to other Anarchs. You must also specify if you are voting to increase (Positive) or decrease (Negative) the votee's status. The last portion is the reason, which must be more than 5 words and convince staff that you have a valid reason for giving a status vote.
NOTE: All of these requests will be reviewed by staff. Staff has final say on how much status is gained or lost, if any.
Voting and You
When you submit a vote through the system, it's seen as your character speaking with one of the Harpies. If you think somebody should be awarded/penalised status but your character wouldn't talk to the Harpies about it, let staff know. The Harpies and the NPCs will be involved in the status rankings as well and you may see positive or negative status votes from vampire staff to reflect this.
Status is a nebulus and fluid thing and there are no hard-set rules on what to vote for and how much status it will award. Votes from higher-status kindred hold more worth than those from lower-status kindred. Here is a rough guide on the sorts of things to vote for, although is by far not an exhaustive list.

Camarilla Advancement
No PC can be Prince or Primogen. They are special roles, meant as ST roles, to help drive plot, and not for regular characters. PCs can obtain these ranks, but at that time would be demoted to NPC. If this ever happens Staff and Player can discuss how the handover to NPC will be done. PCs can hold "lower" roles, such as Deputy Scourge, Sheriff's Deputy, Whip, Harpy.
These ranks and positions can all be lost if the character prove unworthy of them.
Characters that obtain certain ranks or positions will have to meet certain RP obligations, certain sheet obligations and certain time obligations.
Ancillae: 3 in each of the following: Influence(any), Resources, Contacts, Politics. In addition the player will be responsible for 1 "PRP" type scene on a monthly basis, where there PC communicates something that needs to be done to any Neonate PC. In addition the character will need to be approved for one year, and will need the approval of the Prince. Player will have had high status (in the top percentage rankings) for a minumum of three months.
Elders: 5 in each of the following: Influence (all), Resources, Contacs, Politics. In addition the player will be repsonsible for 2 "PRP" type scenes on a monthly basis. In addition the user will need to have been an Ancilla for 1 RL year. and will need the approval of the Prince, as well as the approval of the PC base (a vote with more yes then no). Player will have had consistantly high status for their time as ancilla.
These two are simple representations of the 2 most common promotions PCs may obtain, but any other position is open to discussion as well. For more information please contact any member of Vamp Staff to convert.
