Zoie - Livingroom Chat/Log

From Masq

Lucian comes in the front door, pulling the rag off his hair and glasses off his face to put them in his coat. Shrugging it off he hangs it up by the door and turns to walk towards the kitchen yawning as he scratches his jaw.

There is most definitely the smell of cookies that meet one's nose when they enter. Zoie's shoes are by the door, but she's in the kitchen humming. THat's right. Zoie is barefoot in a kitchen. She's even got the cute little apron on.

Lucian sniffs as he looks over towards her, "Whatchya up to kitten?" He heads over to the coffee pot, frowning at the questionable contents before pouring them out to make a fresh pot. "Don't tell me you dance and cook."

Zoie pushes her hair behind her ear and all but jumps when he comes in. Her green eyes are open wide and expressive. "I um... okay.. I won't tell you. I sing too."

Lucian sniffs at the grounds after he opens the bag, sighing before pouring them into the filter. Grinning a little he shakes his head, "You bake me an apple pie sometime and you just might tempt me into courting you." He teases, giving her a wink before he gets down a mug in preperation.

Zoie blushes at that. She turns almost apple red. "I can bake you a pie and not need anything in return. It is just nice to do stuff for people. I mean um.. don't you do stuff for people to just do it?"

Lucian nods, walking over to lean against the counter out of her way. "Yes, I do. I didn't mean it that way though. Just saying you've got a lot of talents that any man in his right mind would appreciate." He gives her a smile and shrugs.

Zoie nods her head and smiles shyly. "I have had a man or two admire my talents." There is a shocked silence to how that sounds. "I mean .. like being nice and stuff. Not like.. um.. stuff." She coughs and then looks away.

Lucian shakes his head, looking towards the oven. "It's okay hon, I got an eyefull of some of your other talents at the club. There's stuff to admire there too." His grin grows briefly before he asks, "Smells good. So what's in there?"

Zoie turns even more red, as if that is truly possible. "I um.. I..." She clears her throat. "Cookies. Just sugar cookies, but um... I made frosting and stuff for them." She's trying not to look at his face right now. "Shouldn't you be preparing for a date or something?"

Lucian lifts an eyebrow at her question, laughing lightly as he shakes his head, "Nah, no dates these days." His hand comes up so he can scratch a finger along a sideburn, "Kinda just doing my own thing, not really girl shopping a whole lot."

Zoie watches him for a few moments and then nods her head. "Well that girl that was here before seemed more than willing." She pulls out the cookies and sets them on top of the stove top to cool.

Lucian quirks an eyebrow at her, "Which girl?" He moves over, picking up the pot as it gets enough coffee in it for a cup, emptying it back out into his mug. "I hope you're not talking Raine. Ran into her today. She's officially a bitch. Just in case you weren't sure."

Zoie frowns at that term 'bitch'. "Yes I meant her and why do you say that? I hope she never ever comes back over here. I'm not kidding, I'll totally move out."

Lucian walks back over, keeping his coffee black. "What makes you think she was interested in me at all? She left pretty quickly after I got here if I remember right." He shrugs a little, blowing on his drink, "Ran into her at the Fools. She started in on how she was all offended at how rude you were. Told her I didn't want to hear it, if she had a problem I wasn't the one she should talk to. Seemed to put her off a little, I guess she was expecting a sympathetic ear or something."

Zoie shakes her head to that. "I think that she was out of line, this is /my/ home. Not hers. I'll make sure to tell Kenny though that she's trashing me." She sighs a bit to that. "Maybe I should just find a new place to live. Women are so full of drama. As to her, I don't know. She seems like the type to have interest in many people."

Lucian shrugs, "Well we never got to flirting. After I told her that she switched topics, and being catty isn't exactly a big turn on for me." He points a finger at Zoie, shaking it a little, "And that's catty as well. You don't want her talking about you behind her back, you shouldn't be making assumptions either."

Zoie watches him. "It's not an assumption. She flat out said she was free love and into sleeping with who you want to sleep with. She said it when she said it was okay with her if I slept with Kenny as well." That causes a shake of her head. "Everyone just assumes I'm sleeping with men."

Lucian blinks, the finger dropping down. "Oh, well, sorry then." He clears his throat, "That was...very kind of her to give you permission." There's a funny look on his face, semi-amused but a little confused as well. "You're a very attractive young woman, that could just about have any guy she wanted. Sex is...usually part of that."

Zoie nods her head. "I know. Men come on to me, just to sleep with me. Like if they aren't getting that, they aren't interested. It is really disheartening. However, you can't go back to not having sex with someone when you start. It causes more jealousy issues and all of that."

Lucian shrugs a little, "Trying to play Devil's advocate...I can see where you're coming from hon, there's nothing wrong with wanting a relationship before you get horizontal..." He takes a small swallow of coffee, wincing slightly at the heat. "But as a guy...I can tell you from personal experience, there's no way I'm going to buy a car without kicking the tires first. If you follow my metaphor. There's all sorts of compatability sugar, and if everything else is peaches but the two of you don't connect in the sack...it'll end it just as much as if you found out he drowns puppies in his spare time. You don't want to spend the rest of your life with someone you don't have heat with."

Zoie nods. "I suppose I don't worry about it. I mean if you really love each other, than you will be perfectly fine in that area." She smiles a bit and then moves to hop over the couch to sit on it. "I'm not going to worry about it though. You don't see many men asking me out, do you?" She looks back to the door.

Lucian just kind of looks at her, his hand coming up to scratch at his head. He sighs, and just shakes his head a little bit, "If only it worked that way hon." The stove gets one more glance before he heads to follow after her, mug in hand. "Honestly, I don't know. I don't think we've run into each other outside the house."

Zoie smiles a bit to that and waits for him to sit down. She scoots a bit close to him, but not too close to him. "Well they really don't but I'm totally okay with that, you know?" She looks at him. "So... can I ask you a personal question?"

Lucian settles in, stretching his feet out. The mug gets rested on his leg as he looks over at her and nods, "Fire away." After a moments pause he starts to shuffle his feet a little, using one to shove the boot off the other.

Zoie smiles. "What kind of women are you into? I don't mean like how I measure up. I'm just curious. Like do you like strong wills, do you like redheads, all that kind of stuff."

Lucian lets out a small laugh, "It was a redhead once, but that was just bad news in the end." He shrugs, leaning his head back to rest against the couch. "I like strong wills. I like a woman that knows what she wants and goes after it. Sexy, confident..." He ponders more qualities with a furrowed brow. "Likes the outdoors, or is at least willing to humor me enough to go camping once and a while. " Zoie nods her head to that. "I've never been camping. I'm not sure I would like it." She seems to be ticking off how she doesn't match, but that doesn't seem to disappoint her. "Well it is good to know what you want. One should never settle."

Lucian nods a little, "And I want a family. Two kids, maybe three. I'd take as many as I could get, but I figure sooner or later she's going to start beating me off with a stick." He laughs softly, looking at his mug.

Zoie smiles to the talk of children. "I love kids. I mean like really love kids." She looks all happy at the idea. Then she tips her head to one side. "I'm sure you will find someone to do that with."

Lucian shrugs a little bit, "I thought I had. I mean, did the ring and everything. Had one on the way. Then I found out she wasn't who I thought she was... Now I'm starting to wonder if it's in my cards."

Zoie nods her head. "Maybe it's not, but if you want it. I'm sure that you will put it out there and be rewarded with it." She smiles sweetly towards him and then wiggles closer to put her hand on his shoulder comfortingly. . Lucian looks over as she moves closer, quirking an eyebrow up. "There really are no clouds in your sky, are there?" His arm slides out and snakes around her, tugging her closer for a one armed hug. "You remind me of my sister-in-law. She's a sweetheart too."

Zoie gives a soft squeak as she's snagged closer and then smiles a bit. "Why would I want clouds in my sky, they would block the light?" THen her eyes look all interested. "Who's your sister-in-law?"

Lucian chuckles, "Her name is Kiley. I called her Sunshine because of it." He gives her the hug before letting go, standing up afterwards. "I think I'm going to take a shower, maybe go out on the town for a few."

Zoie seems a little sad that he seems to be leaving. She even sort of snuggles into the hug before she pulls back. "Okay.. well maybe you will meet your perfect mate out there tonight."

Lucian grins and shakes his head as he steps through the guest bedroom door, "Not that lucky kitten, but thanks for the happy thoughts."
