Montgomery Blvd: 1200-1300 East -- Albuquerque

It seems that the natural environment has a strong presence here, at the intersection of Eubank Blvd. and Montgomery Blvd. The area seems mostly residential, with a few businesses sprinkled into the mix. The Pueblo-style single-family houses and squat apartment buildings are surrounded by neat rows of pinon trees. Further to the north, the buildings occupy land that was once in agricultural use. Open spaces and the use of acequias (irrigation ditches) reflect the past of this region, which was once farmland.

In general, the pace on this part of Montgomery is rather sedate, the timeless quality of the surrounding wilderness seemingly casting a somnolent spell on the environs. Toward the east, the majestic vista of the Sandias forms an impressive backdrop. The houses in that direction become more opulent: they are spaced further apart and their lots are significantly larger. To the south, Eubank Blvd. is quietly middle-class.
