+roll <dice>
+roll <dice>=<difficulty>
+roll $<shortcut>
+shortcuts
+roll/verify

This command will roll a specified number of dice against a given target and inform everyone in the locale what was rolled. All dice will be seen if no difficulty is given but if a difficulty is used the actual numbers rolled will be kept secret. Staff sees all rolls for debugging purposes. You can use simple addition and subtraction statements in dice rolls, such as "+roll dexterity+firearms-2=5+2" and you can roll other player's stats as part of a difficulty target-- "+roll 6=Maxine's willpower". Wound penalties are automatically accounted for in your rolls. Automatic successes for Potence are included by default. To roll a stat with a two word name (ie: "Animal Ken") replace the space with an underscore "_".

An optional >PLAYERLIST may be placed at the end of the command to prevent people in the area from seeing the roll. Playerlist is a comma-delimited list of other players who will see this outcome of the roll. For example: +roll Wits+Alertness=4>Tom,Dick,Harry will send the outcome to yourself, Tom, Dick and Harry.

There are some options that allow you to alter dice rolling behavior:

!nowound   : Omits wound penalties for things like soak rolls.
!quiet     : Shows your roll only to yourself and not your room.
!#again    : Rerolls #, which can be 8, 9, or 10. You can use this for
things like rerolling 10s for specialties.
!job#      : Adds the results of your roll to job#.
!willpower : Automatically spends willpower for a free success.

Options can be inserted anywhere in your roll, and should have a space before them to make sure they're recognized and not mistaken for a stat!

There is also an option to roll what are called "shortcuts". This lets you type "+roll $soak" instead of "+roll stamina !nowound=6". For a full list of shortcuts type "+shortcuts". Some shortcuts have a default difficulty, but you can override this if you like, which can also be used to add options or a playerlist to a shortcut roll. Note that without specifying a difficulty it is not currently possible to add options or a playerlist to a shortcut roll.

 ie: "+roll $soak=6>Augury", or "+roll $bite=6 !willpower !job17"

The last command is for verification of any roll. You can type this command and see the last 15 dice rolls that you have been present for. You can then verify any roll by comparing the four digit ID in the roll on your screen to what's in your verification log.

Examples:

       +roll Firearms+Dexterity
       +roll 7=6
       +roll Stamina=6
       +roll Intimidation+Manipulation=Dick's Willpower
       +roll Occult+Wits=Tom's Wits+Tom's Courage
       +roll Occult+Wits=10-Harry's Humanity>Tom,Harry
       +roll Intelligence+Animal_Ken=7 !job1>Tom
       +roll $gun
       +roll/verify

Bug reports should be reported using the +bug command.
