Basic Phone Information

There are three types of phones: Regular, Cellular, and the Smart.

Regular phones have SPEAKER and ANSWERING MACHINE built in.

Cellular phones are portable and untappable.

Smart phones operate as cellular phones, but have a built in answering machine. They can be set to ring, quietly vibrate, or be turned off so that the answering machine picks up. They automatically perform caller-ID when in ring or vibrate mode, giving the number as well as the registered owner of the calling phone.

Prices are as follows:

Regular Phone: $35
Cellular Phone: $150
Smart Phone: $500

There are two possible purposes for each kind of phone: Personal use (a phone registered to yourself -- the default) or Business use (a phone registered to your store, shop, bar, etc.). This makes the Phone Directory easier to use, as one can look up either personal or business listings.

How To Get A Phone

To purchase a phone, type one of the following command lines, based on your needs:

BUY REGULAR PHONE ...gives you a regular phone registered to you.
BUY CELLULAR PHONE ...gives you a cellular phone registered to you.
BUY SMART PHONE ...gives you a smart phone registered to you.

BUY REGULAR PHONE FOR <Name of Business> ...gives you a regular phone registered to your business.
BUY CELLULAR PHONE FOR <Name of Business> ...gives you a cellular phone registered to your business.
BUY SMART PHONE FOR <Name of Business> ...gives you a smart phone registered to your business.

Note: If you want an unlisted number, go through the regular process of obtaining a phone, then +mail RPAdmins with your request.

NOTE: Phones cost $CASH; buying one will deduct from your amount in hand or bank. If you don't have enough $CASH, you will not be able to get a phone. You MUST @chown the phones in order to make them work. Please report any bugs to CODE.
